The editorial team at the Journal of Pharmacology and Drug Development (JPDD) is dedicated to ensuring a fair, transparent, and rigorous publication process. We understand that disagreements and concerns can arise, and we have established the following procedures to address them.
Authors have the right to appeal an editorial decision if they believe their manuscript was rejected due to a significant misunderstanding by the reviewers or editors, or a procedural error in the review process.
How to Submit an Appeal:
Appeals must be sent by the corresponding author to the Editor-in-Chief via the journal's official email address.
The email subject line must clearly state: "Appeal of Editorial Decision: [Your Manuscript ID]".
The appeal letter must include:
The full manuscript ID number.
A detailed, evidence-based, point-by-point rebuttal to the specific comments from the reviewers and/or editor that the author believes are flawed.
A clear explanation of why the author believes the decision was incorrect, focusing on scientific arguments, not just disagreement.
Please Note:
Appeals that simply state disagreement with the decision, without providing a substantive scientific rebuttal or evidence of a flawed process, will not be considered.
The Editor-in-Chief will assess the appeal. The Editor may consult the original handling editor, the reviewers, or seek the opinion of a new expert.
The Editor-in-Chief's decision on the appeal is final.
JPDD takes all complaints seriously, whether they relate to the journal's processes, the conduct of its staff, or allegations of misconduct.
Types of Complaints:
Process Complaints: Concerns about delays, failures in the peer review system, or other procedural issues.
Conduct Complaints: Concerns about the behavior or actions of editorial staff or reviewers.
Misconduct Allegations: Complaints related to plagiarism, data fabrication, authorship disputes, or other breaches of our Publication Ethics policy. (These are also handled under our "Allegations of Misconduct" policy).
How to Submit a Complaint:
Complaints should be sent via email directly to the Editor-in-Chief or the Editorial Office.
If the complaint is about the Editor-in-Chief, it should be directed to the publisher, the College of Pharmacy, Al-Nahrain University.
The email should clearly describe the nature of the complaint, providing specific details, dates, relevant manuscript numbers (if applicable), and any supporting evidence.
All complaints will be acknowledged upon receipt.
The matter will be investigated confidentially and fairly, following the guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
The complainant will be informed of the findings and the resolution of their complaint.
